Ecology Awareness Program
Take-Home Items

The Ecology Awareness Program helps young people learn a commonsense approach to preserving the environment through hands-on activities and projects.

Designed to help kids understand the part people play in the environment, the program can help students make informed choices. Topics covered include natural resources, endangered species, the environment, ecosystems and more.

Like each of Modern Woodmen's youth educational programs, the Ecology Awareness Program includes take-home items to recognize the efforts of participants and reinforce what is learned.

Level 1 (Preschool - Grade 2)

In Level 1, lower-elementary students examine the ecosystem of their school grounds (or other appropriate outdoor area). Each child receives a magnifying glass for use with the program.

Level 2 (Grade 3 - Grade 5)

In Level 2, upper-elementary students develop an understanding and appreciation of ecosystems. Each participant receives a pair of mini binoculars for use with the program.

Level 3 (Grade 6 - Grade 8)

In Level 3, middle (junior high) school students study environmental change, human adaptability and green living. Each participant receives a climate change wheel chart for use with the program.
